When you first enter the Newest Phoenix Haunted House,“The Haunting” 2009, you will immediately feel and hear the ambiance of a dark and eerie space.   After the guests pass the ticket booth and waiting area, they enter the Graveyard set, but not before being frightened, I mean, welcomed, New Phoenix Haunted House - The Haunting at Halloween Express! by a few of the new residents who have been dying to meet them! Inside the Graveyard, the living dead lurk beneath every grave and behind every tombstone. And to entertain the guests on busy weekend nights, the zombies come alive just long enough to perform a killer rendition of the late Michael Jackson’s Thriller on the two crypt-like stages set in the center of the huge cemetery.

From the Graveyard, the guests enter the dilapidated Haunted Mansion, long deserted and known by many to be haunted by its former residents. Its still lingering owners welcome their new guests inside where their hope is that they never leave, and if they do, that they take them with!

If the guests do finally escape the ghosts of the Haunted Mansion, their nightmare continues as they leave one haunted place for yet another. The notorious Insane Asylum was thought to be deserted years before, but the guests will soon find out that many of the patients have remained, now crazier than ever and horrifying experiments are still being conducted by the truly insane resident doctor. New victims, I mean, patients, are always welcome.

From the Insane Asylum guests make their way to the Pirates of the Scare-ibbean, the final attraction in The Haunting. And after falling under the spell of the creepy Voodoo Witch, Tia Dalma, to being attacked by a Hammerhead Shark and then narrowly escaping the huge jaws of the Kracken, this rockin and rollin attraction will have everyone begging for the plank!

The fun continues as when, or, if, the guests escape the Black Pearl’s perils and make it safely out of the pygmy filled jungle, they will then have the opportunity to do some Halloween shopping in the world famous Halloween Express store which is conveniently located just outside the haunt exit area. The retail store will be open for haunt guests as well as the public until 9pm each night.

Behind the scenes of all of the frights, there will be nearly 50 full time actors, casting directors, show directors, special make-up effects artists, costume designers and directors. They will all be part of a new theater program which offers local youth an opportunity for training in all areas of the theater arts.

A portion of the New Phoenix Haunted House, "The Haunting’s" annual proceeds will go to help support its own youth programs as well as to benefit other local youth programs and charities.

“With The Haunting, we hope to continue on the legacy that Cydney Neil left with the Rocky Point Haunted House, as well as create our very own here in the Phoenix area. Thousands of lives were changed through her amazing programs and we plan to change many thousands more”.
